ThePilates filter
A mindset for movement, teaching, and everyday life.
Using Pilates principles - like alignment, balance, control, and breath - to navigate workouts, learning, and life on and off the reformer.
I’m a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor trained through Pilates Sports Center (PSC). I teach private and small group sessions. Here I write about what I learn from feeling movement in my own body, research and continued learning, and teaching real bodies.
Hi !
What is a Pilates Filter?
A Pilates filter is a way of approaching movement, teaching Pilates, and navigating everyday life through the principles of Pilates.
Rather than focusing only on exercises, Pilates emphasizes alignment, core strength, control, breath, and awareness. When those principles extend beyond the studio, they become a mindset — one that shapes how you move, how you learn, and how you teach, especially when life is full and imperfect.
Here, that perspective shows up through:
Insights and tips into Pilates teacher training, cueing, and anatomy
Practical and functional movement that fits real schedules
Pilates-inspired mindset shifts for learning and consistency
Encouragement to stay aligned without chasing perfection
This is Pilates as perspective, not perfection.
